First the rear turn signals, Front turn signals and front running lights are on rubber stalks so need a ground wire at least part way back. I'm sure it is a for insuring things electrical work the way they are supposed to and do not have to depend on a corroded ground under a screw head. Electrically there is no reason you could not redo the wiring for the lights automotive style using the frame iron. I'd leave the wire grounds on the igntion and starting parts to insure they work correctly. A little corrosion in one of those circuits could result in a no crank or no start/run problem. Max
